Whipped Banana Oats

To me there is nothing more comforting than a hot bowl of oats whipped to a pillow-like, fluffy perfection. Seriously, the texture of these oats is phenomenal! A light, airy, creamy bowl of heaven.

And the taste is amazing as well! The recipe I tried today was Whipped Banana Oats, inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Kath Eats Real Food.

Topped with homemade raisins, a pinch of cocoa nibs and some coconut. A wonderful way to start the day!

Whipped Banana Oats

Serves 1

1/3 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup vanilla almond milk

1/2 cup water

1 banana, very ripe and sliced

1/2 tbsp chia seeds

To make this oatmeal combine the oats, almond milk, water, and banana (thinly sliced) in a saucepan over medium heat. Wait a few minutes (about five) for the oats to heat up, and when you see the first sputter, or little bubbles forming, start ‘whipping’ (vigorously stirring) the oats. Whipping the bananas into the oats helps to create the light and lovely texture. Next, add in the chia seeds and give the oats a nice stir. Then simply wait another 5-7 minutes until the oats reach your desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Add whatever toppings your stomach is craving and enjoy!

A life without oats is not truly living,
